Duct Cleaning
Why should you consider having your ducts cleaned? The ductwork in most homes (both supply and return) can get dirty and filled with dust, debris and other airborne contaminants from a number of sources. First, during the initial construction of the home much of the dust from the construction often gets pulled into the duct system when they operate the HVAC systems during the final interior construction stage. Secondly, any moisture the may condense in the ductwork during hot, humid weather will allow dirt and dust particles to stick to the interior of the return and supply ducts. Third, older homes (over 10 years old) are more likely to have dirt build-up in their ductwork. And fourth, poor or inadequate filtration in the HVAC system will allow more dust and dirt to accumulate in the ductwork.
The Bassett Services duct cleaning program utilizes a large, high capacity, powerful vacuum truck that is specifically designed for removal of all materials in the ducts even in large homes with long duct runs. A large duct is connected to the main return and then the main supply and then all the supply ducts and return ducts are individually cleaned. Compressed air is forced into an isolated duct section from one end and then the air is pulled from the other end using the powerful, commercial vacuum truck unit to move and pull the debris from the duct. This is done on every section of the supply and return ducts. In addition all the supply and return registers are also cleaned. As an option we also offer duct sealing.
