UV Germ Lamps

Bassett Services offers a variety of Ultraviolet Lamp units for use in and with the HVAC systems to minimize the growth of bacteria and mold.

Bassett offers UV Germicidal lamp systems from both Aprilaire and Honeywell.

The Aprilaire UV systems are single lamp units and are normally mounted downstream of the cooling coils and above the drain pan to control the growth of mold and bacteria in this high moisture area of the air handler and reduce the ability for the mold and bacteria to migrate into the supply ductwork.

The Honeywell UV systems come in both single and dual lamp systems. The single lamp is normally used in the coil area and the dual lamp is often used in the return air duct. These systems can be added to any HVAC system at anytime. Germicidal lamps should always be used in conjunction with a furnace filter or central air cleaner. UV lamps will not remove airborne contaminants but are effective at minimizing growth in the coil area and return air ductwork.
