Aprilaire Whole-Home Media Air Cleaners
The 2200 Model uses a pleated media filter in a plastic housing. This unit utilizes a MERV 10 media and is easily installed in the return air duct next to your heating/cooling air handler and will filter all the air anytime the furnace fan in operating. The filter media is normally replaced once every 12 months. This filter is effective at removing up to 95% of particles at 1.0 micron in size. The 2200 unit can be used in HVAC systems up to 5 ton capacity.
Electronic:
The 5000 Model is an Electronic Air Cleaner that incorporates a pleated media along with the ionizing wires. The Aprilaire electronin air cleaner charges particles and then permanently traps them on the air cleaner media. This combination of electronic grid and media filter provides for an even more effective method of removing the smaller particles from the air. The filter media will last 12 months and is easily replaced and the ionizing wires simply need to be wiped down two to four times per year.
Trane CleanEffects Whole House Electronic Air Filtration System:
The Trane CleanEffects air cleaning system incorporates a new state-of-the-art electronic “field charger”, a prefilter and unique, reusable collection cells. The Pre-Filter traps large airborne particles and extends the time between cleaning the collection cells. The Field Charger facilitates up to 99.98% cleaning effectiveness by charging airborne contaminants so they are attracted to an oppositely charged collection cell. The reusable Collection Cells are precision engineered to trap small particles down to .3 microns in size. The collections cells are washed or vacuumed once a year.

Pure Air Systems, Inc. Whole-House HEPA Filtration Systems:
Pure Air Systems offers a complete line of true, commercial grade, whole-house HEPA systems that can be attached to your HVAC or they can be used as stand-alone systems. The HEPA Shield units contain three filters. A polyester ring panel prefilter for taking out larger particles, a carbon media unit that will remove odors and gases and a true, IES Specified, Hot DOP tested HEPA filter that has an initial efficiency of 99.97% at .3 microns and smaller.
The HEPA Shield units come with their own blower/motor system to take up the static load generated by the HEPA filter. The HEPA Shield units utilize the same GE ECM variable speed motors as used in the Trane HVAC systems.
